Women trafficking: 5 including 2 minor girls rescued in Odisha

Sambalpur: In a major crackdown on women trafficking, the Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued two minor girls and three women here on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off about the trafficking, the GRP personnel raided the Puri-Lokmanya Tilak super-fast express train at Sambalpur railway and rescued them while being allegedly trafficked to Mumbai.

The GRP personnel also detained the couple from Dhenkanal, who were trafficking the girls on the pretext of engaging them in jobs.

Sources at the police informed that, efforts by the cops are on to contact the families of the rescued girls.

Besides, a probe in this regard has also begun, added the sources.
