Bhanjanagar: A middle-aged woman survived murder attempt in the hands of her husband in Patalsingh village under Polasara police limits in Ganjam district last night.
The victim woman has been identified as Minati Sethi.
As per the report, a verbal duel erupted between Minati and her husband Laxman Sethi over some issue last night. As the argument escalated further at a later stage, Laxaman lost cool and tried to strangulate his wife to death due to which she fell unconscious.
The accused escaped from the spot following the attack.
The victim was rushed to Polasara CHC in critical condition by some neighbours later in the night where her condition remains to be critical.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are trying to trace the absconding husband.
