Sambalpur: A video featuring two girls being stripped naked and beaten by some youths has gone viral again in the state despite the directives and notifications issued by the DGP on such videos.
In the 2.40 minute video, some miscreants speaking in Sambalpuri are seen hurling abuses at the girls, beating and even molesting them.
Though the exact day and location of the incident is yet to be ascertained, given the fact that the youths were communicating with each other in Sambalpuri, it is assumed that the video has been shot in Sambalpur. A half-dressed boy is also seen in the video, who seems to have accompanied the girls. He was also beaten with sticks by the youths.
A delegate of BJP Mahila Morcha met Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora after they learnt about the incident and drew his attention towards the incident and lodged a complaint at Sambalpur Town Police Station.
Speaking about the matter, Arora said, “A case has been registered and a special team has been formed to probe into the matter. We are trying to locate the place where the video was shot and the persons involved in the crime.”
Notably, Odisha Police DG RP Sharma had issued an advisory to all the district SPs and public to check circulation of such videos on the internet after several similar videos from places like Bargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Bhubaneswar had come to fore last year.
