Swine Flu toll rises to 40 in Odisha

swine-fluBhubaneswar: Despite all efforts by the Government of Odisha to check the spread of swine flu in the state, the death toll due to the vector borne disease is rising by the day.

Two more persons succumbed to the disease caused by the H1N1 virus here on Tuesday, taking the death toll to 40 in the state this year.

The deaths were reported from Kalinga Hospital and Sunshine Hospital in the state capital.

Significantly, five new swabs were found positive for the H1N1 virus out of the 30 samples tested on Tuesday.  As many as 355 swabs out of the total 1089 tested this year have been found infected with the viral influenza, sources said.
