Bhubaneswar: In a shameful incident, a 60-year-old man was arrested by the Commissionerate Police today for raping a minor girl couple of days ago in Satya Nagar area of the state capital city.
According to reports, Ajay Barik, the accused and neighbour of the victim, raped the 7-year-old girl taking the advantage of her loneliness on Sunday and fled the spot.
Later, when her parents came home, the girl narrated her ordeal before them, following which, her family members filed a complaint with the Kharavela Nagar Police on Monday.
Acting on the allegation, cops arrested the accused today. Besides, they sent him and the victim to the hospital for medical examination.
