Rourkela: Cracking the murder case of a lady LIC agent in Bidyanagari slum, police arrested two youths from Tara Tarini Pali slum under Sector-7 Police Station area on Tuesday.
The deceased woman identified as Sujata Mohapatra was murdered last month.
The arrested accused duo has been identified as Sagar Mukhi and Bhole Mukhi of Tara Tarini Pali slum.
Informing on the arrest, police said the main accused Sagar had done an LIC policy under Sujata. However, on February 15 he needed some money to perform the last rites of his mother-in-law and hatched a plan with the aide Bhole Mukhi to loot Sujata for this purpose. After calling Sujata to their slum for a meeting, the duo attacked her with an iron pipe and a khukri knife killing her on the spot. They later dumped Sujata’s body beside Tara Tarini Temple near Jagannath Leprosy Colony in the area after looting her vanity bag carrying Rs 1200 and a mobile set.
Rourkela Sector-7 Police managed to nab the culprits after tracing the stolen mobile set, said a police official.
The accused have been forwarded to court.
