Koraput: As many as four minor students of Mahadeipur Sevashram in the district were detained for allegedly assaulting a junior student who was rescued in an unconscious state from a drain near the school on January 10.
According to Koraput SDPO, Balabhadra Dip, Koraput Sadar police detained four minor students of Mahadeipur Sevashram for allegedly assaulting and thrashing the class-1 student.
The four students- two each from Class IV and V were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, added the SDPO.
Notably, the class one student of the government-run residential school was found in an unconscious state from a drain near the school. He is now undergoing treatment in Koraput Hospital. He is stated to be critical.
