Pradhan, Gehlot lay foundation stone of LPG Bottling Plant in Balangir

Balangir: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot laid foundation stone of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)’s LPG bottling plant at at Koshala Kalamandala ground here on Monday.

This is the second LPG bottling plant of BPCL in Odisha. The Oil marketing company has already established a LPG bottling plant at Khurda in the state.

The new LPG bottling plant will be constructed at Barkhani village; around 12km from the district headquarter. The estimated cost of the plant will be Rs 103 crore, sources said.

The plant, which is expected to be operational by March 2020, will have the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year.

Once commissioned, the plant will supply LPG cylinders to the consumers in 14 districts of the state such as Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Raygada, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Bargarh.

Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, former Balangir MP Sangita Singh Deo and some senior BPCL officials were  present on the occasion.
