PM Modi to inaugurate 3rd annual meeting of AIIB in Mumbai today

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the main event of the third annual meeting of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) here on Tuesday.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Mobilizing Finance for Infrastructure: Innovation and Collaboration.”

The annual meeting will see leaders from varied organizations and levels of government to share ideas and experiences for creating a sustainable future through sound infrastructure investment, informed Vice President of AIIB, Danny Alexander saying over 3000 people have registered for the event.

Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg said that AIIB will invest 100 million US dollars in National Infrastructure Investment Fund and another tranche of the same amount will follow.

The AIIB is a multilateral development institution with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia and beyond.
