Modi plays ‘Trump Card’ well; modi-fies America

Modi meets TrumpWashington DC: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi ended his two-day US visit on a high note, the Modi-Trump bonhomie became the talking point on global arena.

PM Modi who earlier met US Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis, was given a warm welcome at the White House.

President Trump and US First Lady Melanie Trump greeted Modi and took him to a tour of the White House. After having a one-on-one meeting with Trump, Modi and Trump also held delegation level talks.

PM Modi & US Prez Trump hold talks on Terrorism, NSG, UNSC, Afghanistan, Middle East, Digital Partnership, strategic convergence, business, trade, Intelligence Sharing etc.

However, no talks on H1 B Visa & Paris Climate Deal. US aid to Pakistan was also not on agenda. US and India call on Pakistan not to use its territory for terror activities in India.

President Trump called India a valuable partner and PM Modi a ‘Great PM’. He also hailed Modi’s GST push and his efforts to fight corruption in India. PM Modi hailed USA as a trusted partner.

Trump has accepted Modi’s invitation to visit India, but no dates have been finalised yet. On the other hand, his daughter Ivanka has accepted PM Modi’s invitation to lead the US Delegation to India at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

“PM Modi invited my daughter Ivanka to lead US Delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India, and I believe she has accepted”, said Trump.
