New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices touched a record high on Monday.  Cost of petrol has been raised by 17 paise a litre and diesel by 21 paise per litre in Delhi.

Diesel prices touched an all-time high of 66 rupees 14 paise in the national capital. Petrol prices too hit a 56-month high of 74 rupees 80 paise a litre.

This is the seventh straight day of price increase since oil PSUs on May 14 resumed daily price revision after a 19-day pre-Karnataka polls hiatus.

Soon after Karnataka polled to elect a new state government, state-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) today ended a hiatus in revising petrol and diesel prices that began on April 25.
