Angul: Skill Development & Technical Education Minister of Odisha, Usha Devi on Friday inaugurated a 100-bed hospital here, after hoisting the national flag at the district level celebration of 69th Republic Day.
The new hospital marks a major physical extension of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in the town.
Among the other dignitaries, local MLA Rajani Kant Singh, District Collector Anil Samal and Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijesh Kumar Rai were present during the occasion.
However, a group of BJP Mahila Morcha Members protested the Minister’s visit in the district demanding justice for the 14 year old Kunduli gang rape victim, who recently committed suicide at her village in Koraput district.
At least five Morcha Members were detained by the Angul Police in this connection.
