Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Department on Tuesday issued special instructions in a bid to avoid any possibility of the question papers of Plus Two examination getting viral. The CHSE Department’s instruction came following the incident of Odisha Matric exam question papers getting circulated on WhatsApp.
The CHSE has instructed all the Centre Superintendents of Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) to observe and enforce certain instruction for the smooth and fair conduct of the exam.
The CHSE said no mobile phones or other electronic devices (except those allowed to the candidates) to be allowed to the examination centre. “No students, no invigilators and no other person present inside the examination cnetre should carry mobile phones. If required, the Centre Superintendent may create a clock room for the mobile phones of the members of the staff only,” said the CHSE.
“No officials or teacher should be in possession of mobile phones when the question paper packets are being opened. However, only the Centre Superintendent can have a mobile phone with him to remain in contact with authorities,” added the CHSE.
The Centre Superintendents haves also been asked to take prompt action against any teacher or employee of the exam cnetre if found aiding or abetting malpractice and report the same to the council, government and district administration.
Notably, Odia question paper of the ongoing annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination (Matric exam) went viral on social media on February 23, the first day of the examination, following which the BSE officials had sought the help of the Crime Branch Cyber Cell to find out the source from where the question paper went viral.
A two-member team of Crime Branch Cyber Cell visited the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) office yesterday and held a discussion about the matter with the BSE officials for three hours.
However, adding to the worry of the board officials, the English question paper also went viral yesterday, the second day of the exam schedule.
On the other hand, the School and Mass Education Department suspended five officials of Angul and Ganjam education districts on charge of dereliction of duties during the ongoing annual matriculation examination on Monday.
Two officials including Deputy Centre Superintendent of Gopal Krishna High School and Physical Education Teacher (PET) in Subalaya of Ganjam were suspended from examination duties.
Likewise, the Centre Superintendent of Munderibeda High School and two other teachers were also placed under suspension in Palalahada of Angul district.
