Odisha Cabinet approves bifurcation of Tourism & Culture Dept

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved as many as 16 proposals including bifurcation of Tourism & Culture Department.

The state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the proposal to bifurcate the Tourism & Culture Department of the state government. It would be renamed as Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, said sources.

The Cabinet also approved package of 5 water supply projects worth 370 crore to provide purified water to 217 fluoride-affected villages of Nuapada district.

Besides, it decided to bring changes in Odisha Municipal and Corporation where voting during no-confidence motion will not be done through secret ballot.

The Cabinet also gave its nod to set-up Milk Production Unit with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Barang with daily production capacity of 5 lakh litre.
