Bhubaneswar: Soon after concluding his week-long New Delhi visit and returning Odisha on Sunday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has hoped that his proposal to include ‘Ahimsa’ or non-violence in the preamble of the Constitution would certainly be entertained.

While speaking to Kalinga TV this morning, Naveen said he considers his suggestion as an important one which needs consideration.

“I am hopeful that they would include it. I think it is a very important suggestion that the ‘Ahimsa’ or the non-violence should be included in the preamble of the constitution in homage to Mahatma Gandhi. We would work all out to see that the centenary celebration becomes a success” said Naveen while answering to a question.

Similarly, being queried upon the possibility of an alliance at the national level for the next election Naveen informed no decision has been taken so far in this direction.

“I am very confident that we would win the next election and as far as any alliance is concerned we have no thoughts about that as of now,” maintained Naveen.

On his week-long visit to the national capital CM attended the meeting of the committee for celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Ram Nath Kovind chaired the meeting that was also attended by vice-president Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others.
