Keonjhar: In a brazen jewellery heist in broad daylight, bike-borne miscreants snatched a bag containing ornaments worth lakhs from a trader in Dhenkikot Bazar under Ghatagaon police limits in the district on Saturday.
The trader has been identified as Manmath Rana, father of Kailash Jewellery owner Asit Rana.
Manmath fell victim to the looters this morning while he was about to lift the shutters of the jewellery shop keeping a jewellery bag nearby. A group of looters riding a bike reached him and fled the spot grabbing the bag immediately which was carrying ornaments worth around Rs 15 lakh.
Ghatagaon Police have reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
