Cuttack: Cantonment Police rescued an injured minor boy from Gadagadia Ghat area near Bali Yatra ground in the city on Saturday under mysterious circumstances and handed him over to his parents after necessary treatment.
As per the report, a patrolling party of Cantonment Police spotted the boy lying unconscious near the ring road embankment of the Gadagadia Ghat temple in the morning. Cut marks were also found on the wrists of the victim who was later rushed to the City Hospital for treatment.
The boy was found to be a resident of Chauliaganj area in the city during the counselling of Childline officials, to whom he was handed over after treatment.
As per the statement of the boy before the Childline officials, he left home on a night out along with his grandmother and aunt (father’s sister) yesterday. However, the duo served him some food items near Sikharpur Chhak and he fell unconscious after consuming those. The boy expressed his ignorance on what happened to him afterwards.
While Police have handed over the minor to his father, an investigation is underway to find out under what circumstances he was abandoned by his grandmother and aunt.
