Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Wednesday forecast heavy rains and thunderstorm in as many as 11 districts in Odisha.
The districts include Kendrapara, Puri, Keonjhar, Angul, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.
Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and heavy rains likely to occur over these districts till 6.15 PM today, the Met Dept bulletin said.
The administration has also advised the people of these districts to take precautions during the adverse weather conditions and stay indoors. Fishermen were also advised not to venture into sea.
