Phulbani: Posters released by red rebels surfaced in Mundigarh village under Tumudibandha police limits on Friday in Kandhamal district.

The posters released by the Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagavali division of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group were seen pasted on the walls at several places along Sesarigaon-Gangapada road. The red rebels have demanded engagement of local people in road construction works instead of machines, regular payment of wages to workers, conservation of forest and water resources in the district and complete ban on liquor.

The Maoists have also condemned loot, extortion and murder in the name of red rebels and warned that those indulging in such activities  would be punished in ‘Praja Court’ for the offence.

Police have intensified combing operation in and around the area following the incident.
