Balangir: Tension ran high in Bhalumunda village under Bangomunda police limits in the district on Monday after a man hung himself to death after killing his wife by hacking over a suspected family feud.
The deceased couple has been identified as Kapurchand Bachha and his wife Kaikai Bachha.
The incident came to light in the morning after the daughter-in-law of the couple Sangita Bachha witnessed Kapurchand’s body hanging from the ceiling of a room in his house with a Gamuchha (bathing towel). Kaikai’s body was later found lying in a pool of blood with hack injuries in another room later.
As per the family members of the deceased couple, a dispute occurred between Kapurchand and his wife a couple of months ago following which the later had fled to her paternal home located in Talchakel village in the district. However, she had returned back on Friday and since then the couple had no fights.
However, it seems that a verbal duel erupted between them again last night after all the family members went to bed after having dinner and Kapurchand committed suicide after hacking his wife to death, they added.
Bangomunda Police has reached the spot and seized the bodies for autopsy.
