Low pressure to trigger heavy rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday informed that a low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood during next 24 hrs which may trigger heavy rain in most places of Odisha.

The Met office said that heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts on Monday. Besides, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Angul, Kendrapara, Deogarh Sonepur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts may also experience rain on Monday.

Likewise, heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Angul, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts on Tuesday.

Moreover, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Sambalpur districts on Wednesday.

The fishermen whoever is in deep sea has been advised to return to the coast by tonight. They are also advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coasts and Northwest and adjoining Bay of Bengal from tonight to August 15 morning.
