JEE-Mains-2018 begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-M)-2018, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), began at various centres across Odisha on Sunday.

As many as 36, 299 candidates are appearing the offline JEE-Mains-2018 in eight centres in Odisha namely Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Berhampur, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Angul and Jeypore.

While the paper-I of the pen and paper mode of JEE-Mains was held between 9 AM and 12 PM, the second paper examination which started at 2 PM would conclude at 5 PM.

According to reports, around 44,488 candidates from the state had registered for the 2018 JEE. Out of which, 36,299 are appearing the exam in offline mode today while the other 7,989 examinees will appear the exam in online mode on April 15 and 16.

As many as 12,48,736 candidates have registered for the 2018 JEE Mains and are appearing the test in 112 exam centres across the country.

Results for the first seating examination will be announced on April 30 and the results for second seating will get published on April 31.

The JEE Mains is being held for admission into Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and various other engineering institutes across the country.
