Puri: Devotees have been delighted here in the holy city of Odisha as the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to open the Jagmohan on Monday after a gap of two years and two months.

The Devotees would be allowed to have Darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from Jagmohan after the rituals of Sakala Dhupa, informed a SJTA official.

On normal days, Darshan would be allowed between Mangal Arati and Gopal Ballav. Devotees would have to enter the Jagamohan through Jaya Vijaya Dwara and exit through Beharana Dwara, he added.

However, devotees would be prohibited from entering the Jagamohan during rituals of trinity.

The move came as per the recent directive of Orissa High Court to SJTA in this regard after the ASI had informed the court on March 6, 2018 that it had completed the repair works of the Jagamohan.

The Jagamohan was closed to public since January 28, 2016, as the ASI had started taking up repair of the inner side of the temple including the sanctum sanctorum.
