India beat China 3-1 in Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Hockey

Donghae City: The Sunita Lakra-led India team registered its second win in the ongoing 5th Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Hockey here on Wednesday. Indian eves defeated China 3-1.

Vandana Katariya scored double goals in the fourth and 11th minute that gave a formidable lead early for the defending champions while Gurjit Kaur (51 minute) was the other goal scorer for India.

China’s Wen Dan converted a well-struck field goal in the 15th minute to narrow the lead to 2-1 before going into the first break. However, China ended the full time only with one goal.

The Indian team had earlier outplayed Japan (4-1) on May 13. They will clash against Malaysia on 17th May.
