IMD issues thunderstorm, lightning, rain alert for 13 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for 13 districts of Odisha on Saturday.

As per the latest Nowcast of the IMD, moderate thunderstorm accompanied by light to moderate rainfall along with lightning are very likely to occur in districts like Naupada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Khorda, Dhenkanal, Angul and Mayurbhanj. The alert would remain in effect till 1 PM, it added.

People have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes during the period of alert and advised to take shelter in safe places to avoid any eventuality.
