Heavy rainfall likely in Odisha till Oct 8 : IMD

Rain in OdishaBhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy downpour is likely to occur at at several places in Odisha in the next two days under the influence of a deep depression over East Central Bay of Bengal, according to a bulletin issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday afternoon.

Under the impact of the cyclonic formation, several parts of coastal Odisha have received medium to heavy rainfall this morning. Once the system enters land, the rainfall  will shift to interior and western regions of the state, the IMD predicted.

“Under the influence of depression, heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur at Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Ganjam and Nayagarh districts of the State within the next 48 hours,” said IMD’s Regional Center Director Sarat Chandra Sahu.

There will be a slight change in weather conditions after 9th of this month, the IMD bulletin added.
