Bhadrak: Launching a crackdown on adulterated tobacco business in the district, police on Sunday raided at least two spurious gutkha production units in the district and arrested four persons in connection with the case.
The have been identified as Sheikh Ali (50), Sheikh Karimulla (32), Sheikh Umed (38) of Bada Shankarpur area and Sheikh Ghulam Mustafa (40) of Puruna Bazar area.
A team of Bhadrak Police which conducted raids in at least three separate places under Puruna Bazar area following a tip-off on the gutkha adulteration units found at least two such units operating clandestinely inside godowns.
The police team seized a huge cache of gutkha packets and machineries used in preparing those from the spot and took the accused under its custody.
Police said more such raids would be conducted in the area in coming days to keep illegal gutkha business at bay.
