Phulbani: Tension ran high in Sunapanga village under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district last night after a girl torched at least three bikes after barging into a youth’s house whom she claimed as her estranged lover.
As per the report, the accused girl identified as a resident of Kanjamendi village under K Nuagoan area reached the victim youth identified as D L Dinesh’s house late in the night and torched at least three bikes parked inside one after the other. However, she ran away from the spot after someone in Dinesh’s family spotted her and raised an alarm.
The victim youth’s family lodged a complaint with Baliguda Police this morning in connection with the case.
“The girl had a one-sided affair with my son due to which she had attacked and stabbed him on an earlier occasion. Last night she jumped over the boundary wall of my house and torched the vehicles parked inside. She had also attacked my son with a knife by breaking into the house a few months ago,” said Dillip Kumar Nayak, the victim boy’s father.
On the other hand the accused girl rubbished vehicle torching allegation in her reaction to media and claimed that Dinesh was having an affair with her for past three months. She said the victim now wants to cheat her.
The girl also showed some injury marks on her neck and accused the boy’s family of attacking her.
Baliguda Police has started investigation into the incident.
