Keonjhar: In a crackdown on corrupt practices prevailing at the panchayat level the Kenojhar Collector suspended a Sarpanch from his office at Mareigan village under Hatadihi block in the district today on charges of age fudging.
The action was initiated against Mareigan Sarpanch Nakul Chandra Dash after a complaint against him made to the Collector Dr. N.Thirumala Naik by a local a few days ago. As per the complaint, Nakul had mentioned his age wrongly in an affidavit during the last panchayat election, with a vested interest.
Naik had ordered for an inquiry in the incident and suspended the accused Sarpanch after the report went against him.
