Kendrapara: A student allegedly committed suicide over poor performance in the annul Matric examination, the result of which was declared around a month ago, in Santasahi village in Kendrapara district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ratikrushna Khuntia.
Ratikrushna, who went to bed along with his father after dinner last night was found hanging to the ceiling of his house this morning.
Police reached the spot getting information on the incident later in the morning and rushed the body for autopsy.
As per the family members of the deceased, he was under immense mental stress for last one month after performing badly in the Matric examination. He might have taken the extreme step due to the same, they suspected.
Police are waiting for the autopsy report to decide its next course of action.
