BJP Leader Jayanarayan Mishra sent to Judicial Custody

Sambalpur: The judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) court, Sohela on Thursday refused to grant bail to BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra in connection to the Banabira firing case, which occurred ahead of Bijepur by-poll and left one dead in the district.

Dismissing the bail plea, the JMFC court sent Mishra to 14-day judicial custody in Sohela jail.

The saffron leader was arrested this morning by a police team led by Padampur SDPO Laxminarayan Panda.

On February 22, Minister of Sushant Singh’s brother Subrat Singh was attacked near Banabira under Sohela police limits ahead of Bijepur by-poll.

Subrat’s driver Dileswar Sahu, who had sustained critical head injury in the attack, died during his treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on February 23, while three persons were injured.
