Bhubaneswar: It is a matter of great pride for the people of the entire Odisha as the capital city – Bhubaneswar – has been placed among the Top 50 Smart City Governments in the world.
According to a study conducted by Singapore-based Eden Strategy Institute, Bhubaneswar, the Smartest City of India, has been ranked 32nd in the list.
Ahmedabad (23rd spot), New Delhi (23rd spot), Surat (27th), Jaipur (34th) and Pune (36th) are the other Indian cities which have been included in the top 50 Smart City list.
London topped the list while Singapore stood at the 2nd position and Seoul at the 3rd.
The ranking, which investigates the roles that city governments play a lead in Smart City strategy, were unveiled from a study conducted in partnership with OXD (ONG&ONG Experience Design).
The cities were adjudged on 10 parameters: Clarity of vision, Leadership, Budget, Provision of Financial incentives, Support programmes, Talent-Readiness, People-centric approach, Development of an Innovation Ecosystem, Implementation of Smart Policies and Track Record of previous initiatives and projects.
