Arrested BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra shifted to SCB Medical

Cuttack: Senior BJP leader Jaynarayan Mishra, who was arrested on murder charges during Bijepur by-poll violence, has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, as his health condition deteriorated.

Sources said that Jaynarayan is suffering from heart and kidney ailments.

The saffron party leader was arrested on March 15 in connection with the Banabira firing case which took place on February 22 ahead of the Bijepur by-poll. Subrat Singh, brother of Minister of Sushant Singh, was attacked in the firing. Along with two others, Subrat was injured in the incident. Later, his driver Dileswar Sahu died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Jaynarayan was lodged in the Sohela sub jail after his arrest, however, he was admitted to the Burla hospital on April 22 after he complained of ill health.
