Anti-Maoist Operation: CM announces Rs 10 lakh reward each for Balangir, Kandhamal Police

Bhubaneswar: Hailing their efforts during recent anti-Maoist raids, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each for Balangir and Kandhamal Police. The reward would be an additional amount to the regular prize money currently being given for the purpose.

Naveen, who chaired a high-level meeting at the Odisha Secretariate to review Maoist situation in the state also announced to felicitate the police officers and the staff for their exemplary courage in curb the left wing extremism in Odisha.

On the other hand the CM also appealed the red rebels to shun violence and join the mainstream.

In the meeting, which was attended by the Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Director General of Police (DGP), Home Secretary, Director General (Intelligence), IG (Intelligence), and Superintendents of Police of Balangir and Kandhamal, the CM was apprised that the Naxal menace in the state is under control now.
