AIIMS entrance exam-2018 begins in 171 cities

Bhubaneswar: The entrance exam for admission into the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) began today and will conclude tomorrow.

The online examination (computer based test) is being conducted in two shifts per day. The first shift which began at 9 AM is slated to end at 12.30 PM, while the second sitting of the exam will be conducted between 3 PM and 6.30 PM.

Over two lakh candidates are appearing the exam, a gateway for admission into MBBS course at AIIMS New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) and Nagpur (Maharashtra), at various centres in 171 cities of the country.

In Odisha, the medical entrance exam is being held in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur.

There are 800 seats available in the above mentioned institutes and the results are expected to be declared by the end of June.

The first phase counselling for admission to MBBS course will be held between July 3 and July 6. Similarly, the second and third phase counselling will be conducted on August 2 and September 4 respectively.
