Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today succeeded in arresting the accused who had brutally hacked a youth to death in front of a liquor shop in Palasuni area in the city over some past enmity last afternoon.
The arrested accused has been identified as Hadibandhu Behera.
A special squad of the Commissionerate Police arrested the accused after conducting raids at several places in the city with the help of Mancheswar Police since last night.
Hadibandhu reportedly indulged in a verbal duel with the victim, a laundry owner, in front of the liquor shop over some issue in the afternoon. As the verbal duel escalated further he took out a billhook and hacked the victim brutally. The victim died on the spot due to profuse bleeding.
The accused would be forwarded to court today, said police.
