25000 Women Entrepreneurs to get Digital Marketing Training

CM, Digital workshopBhubaneswar: As many as 25000 women entrepreneurs in the small and medium sectors across the state will get training about digital marketing.

MSME department, Mission Shakti and leading social networking site Facebook have launched a joint initiative to train women entrepreneurs across the state on ways to market their products digitally.

With a view to empower women entrepreneurs and SHGs with digital marketing skills, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday inaugurated a digital workshop here.

Addressing the gathering, Patnaik said, “Women’s empowerment is close to my heart and one of the top most priorities of my Government. In 2001, we started the Mission Shakti Movement and nearly 50 lakh women are part of this movement across the state.”

Women entrepreneurs of our state will now be able to connect to the 200 million Facebook users in India and nearly 2 billion users worldwide, the Chief Minister said.

“Today’s workshop will be mutually beneficial to urban women entrepreneurs and their sisters from rural parts of the state”, Patnaik added.

The programme was attended by MSME Minister Prafulla Samal, Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi, Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi , Development Commissioner R. Balkrishnan, Facebook delegate Rajat Arora and other dignitaries.
