Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, two minor girls died after drowning in a pond at Gumi village under Odagaon tehsil of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Mama Sahu and Sumi Samantray.
Both Mama and Sumi reportedly went to the village pond to take bath while returning home from tuition this morning. However, some villagers who went to the pond, found their bodies floating on the water.They, immediately, rushed them to the hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
A pall of gloom descended on the area following the unfortunate death of the minors.
