TrainBhubaneswar: The East Coast Railways (ECoR) on Tuesday informed that two each Express and Local Passenger Trains will remain cancelled up to 31st March, 2018.

The ECoR, in a press release, informed that the Durg-Jagadalpur-Durg Tri-weekly Express (18211/18212), Rourkela-Koraput-Rourkela Express (18107/18108), Durg-Visakhapatnam-Durg Passenger (58529/58530) and Sambalpur-Koraput-Sambalpur Passenger train (58301/58302) will remain cancelled till the feasibility of the track and bridge on the route.

Notably, train services were affected due to heavy rain and flood causing breaches and washing out of two spans (pillars) of a Railway Bridge affecting Down Line between Theruvali and Singapur Road Stations in Rayagada District in Rayagada-Titlagarh Railway Section on 15th July. As a result, trains in the route were diverted, cancelled and short-terminated.

The Down Line Bridge was made fit for train communication on the morning of 19th July, 2017 and some of the trains were allowed to run in the section with restricted speed.

After review, train services have gradually improved in the section and long distance Express trains were resumed fully in the section except the above two Express and two local passenger trains, added the press release.

The cancelled trains will resume service after reviewing the feasibility of the track and bridge.
