Malkangiri: In yet another incident of sexual assault on minor girls in the state, a 10-year-old girl was admitted to hospital in the district yesterday after getting raped by a 16-year-old boy in MV-10 village.
As per the complaint filed by the victim’s family with Malkangiri Police, the accused dragged the girl to his house located in the same village last night and outraged her modesty. The girl who sustained grievous injury in the assault bled profusely and returned home late in the night when the incident came to light.
“I spotted blood stains on my niece’s cloth and inquired about the incident. She tried to hide her ordeal initially and claimed that the injuries were caused to her due to a fall onto the ground. After I grilled her she disclosed the entire episode of rape,” said Kartik Dutta, the victim’s uncle.
The girl has been admitted to Malkangiri DHH where her condition is stated to be critical.
Malkangiri Police today started investigation into the case and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding culprit.
