1.61 kg of Gold seized at Bhubaneswar Airport, 2 arrested Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off provided by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), security personnel arrested two persons for allegedly carrying gold weighing 1.61 kg in their haemorrhoids here on Monday night.

The duo was arrested with six gold biscuits soon after they landed at the airport from Kuala Lumpur by an Air Asia flight (No- AK-31).

According to reports, a 28-year-old man, who is a resident of Kolhapur in Maharashtra, was arrested with 661 gm of gold. He flew into the city from Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur.

Another 25-year-old man from Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh was also arrested with 400 gram of gold biscuits when he landed in Bhubaneswar from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur.

Both of them are being interrogated.
