New Delhi: In their opening encounter of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, India lost to the United States 0-3 in a Group A matche played at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here last night.
The host team got huge support from the audience and received a standing ovation for their effort at the end of the match.

Earlier, in the tournament opener, two-time champions Ghana began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Colombia.
India will play their second Group A match against Colombia here on October 9.
In Group B fixtures, New Zealand drew with Turkey 1-1 while Paraguay beat Mali 3-2, played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
