Odia Lad Pratap Lakra helps India lift Asian School Hockey Championship

The Indian School team beat Malaysia 5-1 to lift the title at the 5th Asian School Hockey Championship at the Aishbagh Stadium in Bhopal on Tuesday.

For India, Odisha defender Pratap Lakra played a crucial role in the final match. He successfully converted a penalty corner and a penalty stroke into two goals. Alishan Mohammad also scored two goals. Maninder Singh scored the fifth goal.
Malaysia managed to score its single goal through Akhimullah Anuar Esook.

Earlier, India defeated China 11-0 in the semi final on Saturday while defending champion Malaysia defeated Singapore by 12-1. In the match for third and fourth place, Singapore beat China 3-1.

India, Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, UAE, Singapore, Thailand and Nepal took part in the tournament.
