Hockey, India beat PakistanDhaka: India on Sunday defeated their arch-rivals Pakistan 3-1 in a pool encounter of the 10th men’s Asia Cup hockey tournament here. Earlier, India comfortably defeated Japan (5-1) and hosts Bangladesh (7-0).

Chinglesnsana Singh (17th minute), Ramandeep Singh (44th) and Harmanpreet Singh (45th) scored the goals for India, while Pakistan lone strike came from the stick of Ali Shan in the 49th minute.

In the 33rd minute, two Pakistan players were shown the yellow card but India didn’t take the advantage when the opposition was down to nine men.

Hockey India shared all the goals scored in the match in its twitter handle with a caption: “#ICYMI: @chinglensana29’s MoM performance and all the goals from India’s wonderful win over Pakistan on 15th Oct. #INDvPAK #HeroAsiaCup.”

 

By virtue of this win, India finished on top of Pool A with nine points from three games while Pakistan secured the second spot with four points.
