City Cycling Club starts ‘Kataka to Kathmandu’ Rally

cycle rallyBhubaneswar: A city based sports club, Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club on Thursday set out on a cycle rally to Kathmandu from Cuttack with an objective to spread peace and harmony.

The rally named “Kataka to Kathmandu” was flagged off this morning from Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar by KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta.

The rally with a message of “Friendship and Peace” includes eight cyclists who would cover a distance of 1450 km in 12 days. They would reach at Kathamandu, Nepal on October 9. The rally would pass through Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh to reach Nepal.

“The cyclists are on an adventure trip to Kathmandu on cycle with a message and we wish them all the best in their noble endeavor,” said Dr Samanta while talking to media soon after the flagging off.

The group believed that the rally would spread awareness among people to opt for cycling which is a healthy and environment-friendly medium of transport, as well as peace and harmony.
