Australia beat India in 2nd T20; level series 1-1

Guwahati: Australia bounced back in the T20 series as Jason Behrendorff destroyed India’s top order in the second game at the Baraspara Stadium here on Tuesday evening. The Kangaroos won by 8 wickets leveling the three- match series 1-1.
Jason took the wicket of opener Rohit Sharma (8) and skipper Virat Kohli (0) in the very first over and turned the tide decisively in the visitor’s favour from the beginning. The rookie bowler then scalped Manish Pandey (6) and Sikhar Dhawan (2) in his spell of 4 for 21. He was declared the Man of the Match.

After winning the toss, the visitors expectedly chose to field first on a seamer friendly wicket and restricted the hosts at 118 in the stipulated 20 overs. Kedar Jadhav (27), Hardik Pandya (25) and MS Dhoni (13) were the top scorers for India.
Chasing the target, Australia made 122 for 2 in just 15.3 overs. Though openers Aaron Finch (8) and David Warner (2) got out early , Travis Head (48) and Moises Henriques (62) shared an unbeaten 109-run stand off 76 balls to seal the match in their team’s favour.
The victory was also Australia’s first over India in eight T20 Internationals. The series decider will be played in Hyderabad on Friday.
