32nd All Odisha Taekwondo Championship concludes

32nd All Odisha Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 concludes Cuttack: The 32nd All Odisha Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 organized by Odisha Taekwondo Training Center concluded at Sachin Tendulkar Indoor House here on Sunday.

As many as 287 participants from 15 districts of the state took part in the three-day championship, which began on October 6. It was also an occasion for the old students of the Taekwondo Training Center to reunite.

Susanta Singh, state Labour Minister, Ranjan Kumar Biswal, Corporator of Ward No-24 of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), Gopal Chandra Roy (6th Dan Black Belt), General Secretary of organizing committee and Arindam Roy (4th Dan Black Belt), Ollywood star and Joint Secretary of the organizing committee, attended the concluding ceremony of the championship as guests and gave away the awards and certificates to the winners.

Sudipta Nanda (2nd Dan black belt), Chandan Sahoo (3rd Dan black belt), Pradip Kandi (2nd Dan black belt) and Srikant Parida (2nd Dan black belt) were among other organisers who were present.

Despite heavy odds, Sudipta Nanda and other organisers worked very hard for the smooth conduct of the Championship.

“We have been striving hard to make this programme a big success so that Taekwondo gets promoted across the state. It is a real motivation for us to see such a huge response. We need cooperation from the state government as well as interested organizations to achieve our goal,” said Nanda while speaking to KalingaTV.32nd All Odisha Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 concludes

In his address, Ollywood actor Arindam urged everyone to work hard for the promotion of the Korean martial art in the state.

“As it is said United We Stand, Divided We Fall, I request all Taekwondo associations/groups to work under one common goal that is to promote Taekwondo all over the state,” said Arindam.

“Taekwondo is our passion and has been a stress buster. We have been at work always for the promotion of this sports and are hopeful of hosting a national event in Taekwondo in Odisha”, says Srikant Parida, one of the organisers.
