Parliament clears landmark Bill granting equal rights to HIV Patients
In a landmark decision, the Parliament cleared the Bill ensuring equal rights to the HIV AIDS affected persons in the country. The Bill seeks to empower the HIV AIDS affected persons and grant them access to education and healthcare services.
Terming the decision as ‘historic,’ Union Health Minister JP Nadda hoped the discrimination against the HIV affected would reduce after the passage of the Bill, he said those not abiding by the provisions will be penalized with legal action.
“The #HIVAIDSBill puts obligations of the establishments to provide safe working environment for the #HIV affected people,” he tweeted.
