Vajpayee’s funeral will held at Delhi’s Smriti Sthal tomorrow

New Delhi: The Union Government on Thursday informed that the funeral of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away today, will be held at Smriti Sthal here tomorrow. His body will be taken to BJP party office at 9 AM.

In a circular, the Home Ministry, also announced a seven-day (from August 16-22) state mourning as a mark of respect to Vajpayee.

It has been directed to fly the national flag at half-mast from today for seven days. Besides, there will be no official entertainment during the period of the state mourning.

The government also declared a half day holiday in all central government offices, central public sector undertakings across the country and the Delhi government offices of NCT of Delhi.

The 93-year-old former PM breathed his last at AIIMS-Delhi following prolonged illness.
