Youth slits wrist playing ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ in Keonjhar

Blue Whale ChallengeKeonjhar: In yet another Blue-Whale challenge-related incident, a college student injured himself grievously by slitting wrist at Salania village under Hatadihi block of the district on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Manoj Nayak, a student of Jajpur based Baba Bhairabananda Mahavidyalaya.

Manoj was rescued by his family members this morning while cutting his wrists with a blade at home. He was immediately rushed to the Salania Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared him out of danger after preliminary treatment.

Manoj has admitted of playing the ‘Blue Whale Challenge’, the deadly computer game, on his mobile over past few days and took the step as a part of the game.

It is the second Blue Whale Challenge-related incident in the district within a month. On October 14, a youth tried to commit suicide by drinking poison at Tabhakud village under Anandpur block in the district while playing the deadly game.
